The Burden of Truth

In the title sequence for the movie, Mother, The story centers on a mother who tries to find the real killer after her intellectually disabled son is wrongfully accused of murdering a young girl.

My goal is to captured the essence of the mother’s secret recipe for memory loss. Through the use of rice and a fake lily as framing devices, I aimed to highlight key symbols in the film.

Final frames

Rice, once a staple of everyday life, is transformed into a commodity that can be traded for sex, revealing how the weak are often exploited. The fake lily symbolizes innocence and purity, yet it is buried within the rice, representing the dark themes of sex and bullying.
